Excerpt: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is committed to helping landowners, farmers and the general public learn more about the functions and benefits of wetlands. EPA is also committed to involving the public in efforts to conserve our remaining wetlands and restore those that are threatened or impaired. For these reasons we are inviting your participation in the Wetland Walk program. The purpose of Wetland Walk is to give citizens the opportunity to become partners in learning about this valuable resource and at the same time collect information and data which will help identify trends in wetlands health and location. Wetland Walk is a companion program to the successful Streamwalk program.
