Excerpt: AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency ACTION: Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking SUMMARY: Diesel engines used in motor vehicles and nonroad equipment are a major source of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, both of which contribute to serious health problems in the United States.
